Human body consists of various blood cells which render us functional and agile. Similarily, the apps in our phone can very easily be called the soul of our mobile phones. Without these, the phone might as well be just dead. From news to entertainment and sports to books, name a thing and there is an app. And therein lies your problem if you are an app creator. Approximately, there are about 1 million apps available present on Google Playstore and a wide range of audeince has access to it from across the globe. With such a humungous amount of applications available and each one asking the audience to trust them, how do you make your app stand apart? What all should it entail so that it can speak volumes about itself?
This is how –
1) Target Audience: It goes without saying that no business can flourish if it fails to cater to the audience it originally intended to reach out to. From the initial stage, you need to be crystal clear about who do you want to target with your application. For example, a car racing game will focus on kids between the age groups of 5-14, while a news app would target adults from say, 18 years onwards. More your clarity about the audience, more is the chance of the success ratio of your app enhancing.
2) Designing the app: The app design plays a crucial role and has the ability to leave an imprint on the user’s mind once they have used it. This may also lead to some word of mouth publicity and there is certainly nothing better than that. Utmost emphasis should be laid on UI design and various multi touch gestures for touch enabled devices.
3) Get the website talking: Needless to say, there has to be a point of reference for your app. Where does the user go next? What if he is intrigued and wants to know more? Your website should be able to speak on your behalf. Aesthetically appealing and content wise, rich. Design the website in such a way that it becomes an extension of your app and acts as a reliable marketing tool for you. Don’t forget to think out of the box while working on the website.
4) Terminate those bugs: These bugs slow down your app and in some cases can harm the device as well. In such a scenario, the user will get frustrated and there will be no reason for him to keep the app installed on his device. Alpha testing with a small number of users helps in cleaning maximum number of bugs.
5) Appoach to develop the app– It is for you to decide which approach do you want to go ahead with, native, web or hybrid app. It usually depends on time and budget constraints and every approach comes with its own pros and cons. Therefore, take your time and choose wisely. It is your app, afterall.
