Node.JS
What is Node.js?
Node.js is a JavaScript runtime built on Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient. Node.js’ package ecosystem, npm, is the largest ecosystem of open source libraries in the world.
Uses Node.JS
1. If your server side code requires very few cpu cycles. In other world you are doing non blocking operation and does not have heavy algorithm/Job which consumes lots of CPU cycles.
2. If you are from Javascript back ground and comfortable in writing Single Threaded code just like client side JS.
3.By using JavaScript throughout your app, you not only gain mental energy, you gain practicality as well. By potentially re-using your models, and templates, you reduce the size of your application which reduces complexity and chance for bugs.
4.JavaScript as a language is eating the world. It is not going away soon. There is a JavaScript runtime on every personal computer in the world, and it looks to stay that way for awhile.
